Series: Big Bash League 2022-23

Sydney Thunder vs Brisbane Heat, Eliminator 27th january 1.45pm

Venue: Sydney Showground Stadium, Sydney

The winner moves on and the loser goes home, pretty simple stuff as the Sydney Thunder and Brisbane Heat do battle in Sydney on Friday.
The Big Bash finals kick off on Friday night at Spotless Stadium with the Sydney Thunder hosting the Brisbane Heat.

For the winner? They go on to play the Renegades in Melbourne on Sunday. The loser? They go home empty-handed.
David Warner has been a bust, so far in the BBL this season: five games so far for only 63 runs is a pretty terrible return on investment.

BUT all the Thunder need is one innings from Warner before he jets off to India and no better way for him to repay the faith than going large in a do-or-die final.

Daniel Sams is one of the better all round BBL players in the competition, he can get it done with both the bat and ball. He’s one of the key players for
the Thunder and if he can produce a leading performance with either bat or ball (ideally both) the Thunder are going to be hard to beat.

But take a look at the top four of the Heat and there’s a quick reality check to be had: any team with Usman Khawaja, Matt Renshaw, Marnus Labuschagne
and Josh Brown is more than capable of winning most games of T20 Cricket.

Michael Neser took four wickets in the loss on Wednesday and is the number one bowler at Spotless Stadium.

If the Heat are to win this game Neser is going to need to take 2-3-4 wickets and be well supported by Mitchell Swepson and Matthew Kuhnemann in their more than likely eight overs.

Pitch Report
If we look at previous records at Sydney Showground Stadium, a team would want to bat first here. It is not known as a high scoring ground
as average first innings total in BBL has been 144 here. The ground has hosted 28 games but never witnessed a team scoring 200.

KEY PLAYERS TO WATCH BATSMEN David warner, Oliver davis, Matt Renshaw, Marnus Labuschagne

KEY PLAYERS TO WATCH BOWLERS Michael Neser, Mitchell Swepson, Daniel Sams, Ben Cutting

Prediction: sydney Thunder to win the match comfortabely at their home Ground
